Enhanced Optical and Electric Manipulation of a Quantum Gas of KRb Molecules

Author: Jacob Covey
Publishing date: 2018
This thesis describes significant advances in experimental capabilities using ultracold polar molecules. While ultracold polar molecules are an idyllic platform for quantum chemistry and quantum many-body physics, molecular samples prior to this work failed to be quantum degenerate, were plagued by chemical reactions, and lacked any evidence of many-body physics. These limitations were overcome by loading molecules into an optical lattice to control and eliminate collisions and hence chemical reactions. This led to observations of many-body spin dynamics using rotational states as a pseudo-spin, and the realization of quantum magnetism with long-range interactions and strong many-body correlations.Further, a 'quantum synthesis' technique based on atomic insulators

Particle Physics and Inflationary Cosmology

Author: Andrei Linde
Carol Linder
Publishing date: 2017
A monograph on inflationary cosmology and cosmological phase transitions, investigating modern cosmology's relationship to elementary particle physics. This work also includes a non-technical discussion of inflationary cosmology for those unfamiliar with the theory.

Introduction to Gauge Field Theory Revised Edition

Author: (University Bailin
Alexander Love
David Bailin
Publishing date: 2018
Offers comprehensive coverage of modern relativistic quantum field theory, emphasizing the details of actual calculations rather than the phenomenology of the applications. Forming a foundation in the subject, this book assumes knowledge of relativistic quantum mechanics, but not of quantum field theory.

Target Station Optimization for the High-Brilliance Neutron Source HBS

Author: Jan Philipp Dabruck
Publishing date: 2019
In the present work, the target station of the accelerator-driven neutron source HBS is optimized in comprehensive parameter studies using the Monto-Carlo method. The dependence of the most important performance characteristics of such a system on the external parameters is investigated neglecting technical and mechanical limitations. In this way, qualitative and quantitative statements for all possible configurations and envisaged applications can be derived and should be considered in the detailed planning of such facilities. For this purpose, different scenarios are considered that place completely different requirements on the design of the target station. The central statements derived in this thesis can be transferred to any framework conditions, such as different
