"The projects in this book are developed based on the needs of the industry. Besides the contribution to the development of the industry, this practice also serves the mission to have more qualified logistics management graduates who had the chance to know business life prior to graduation." Prof. Dr. Tunçdan Baltac o lu............................................. "The undergraduate students with the academic staff of logistics management department showed great success to develop and encourage university-industry collaboration. The projects are specifically developed for problem solving in logistics industry. Based on their efforts and experience in project management, students in these projects are ready for successful professional life in the future." Yavuz Sarvan,

Publishing date: 2010
Microwave processing of materials technology is a unique and powerful technology that can offer many advantages when compared with the conventionally already in use technology. On the other hand, lithium disilicate (LS2) glass system provides the basis for a large number of glass-ceramic products, such as cookware, radomes, ceramic composites, stovetops, and recently a new generation of dental crowns. The crystallization of lithium disilicate glass into glass-ceramic materials using variable frequency microwave (VFM) processing will be investigated in this study. The existence of the "Microwave effect" phenomena and concept in the crystallization process of LS2 as well as the possible explanations for the existence of that effect will be discussed. Multi-Scale Computational Modeling of Bioprinted Tissue Cons

Author: Kalyani Nair

Publishing date: 2008
Tissue engineering has been redefined as the use of physical, chemical, biological and engineering processes to control and direct the aggregate behaviors of cells .This offers tremendous opportunities for designing in vitro physiological models to study disease pathogenesis, inventing cell-based therapeutics in clinical applications and developing novel pharmaceutical methods for reducing the use of animals in drug testing. However, while using biomanufacturing processes, cells are subjected to an array of mechanical forces which may injure it. While experimental studies have been conducted for specific bio-fabrication systems to understand cell responses, an engineering model is also needed that can be used to predict the effect of mechanical forces on cells.
